Matthias Krüger

Matthias Krüger

Matthias is initiator and head of the trombone quintet Slide-O-Five. As such he is your contact for all things concerning the ensemble. His flexibility is also in demand on stage: tenor trombone, bass trombone and contrabass trombone are his instruments.

Matthias played his first trombone tones as a member of the church brass band (Posaunenchor) in his home town, which was lead by his father. Later he studied trombone at the Academy of Music in Detmold. His professors were Heinz Kricke and Heinz Fadle. Master courses with Branimir Slokar, Ben van Dijk, Michel Bequet and others supplemented his studies. Matthias can often be met at advanced trainings and summer courses, where he gets fresh impulses and perfects his musical performance. Matthias loves the German trombone sound, which he cultivates together with the other Slide-O-Five musicians.
